Definition
Gelatin is defined as a product obtained by the acid, alkaline or enzymatic hydrolysis of collagen derived from the skin, white connective tissue and bone of animals.
Physical data
Powder or granule, light yellow to yellow. Nearly tasteless and odorless.
Gelatin hydrates into discrete, swollen particles when it is soaked into cold water; When being warmed, the swollen
particles dissolve into a solution.
Application
In food industry , for pharmaceuticals synthesizing, for microbiology, nutrient media for bacterial culture, analytical chemistry.
